My Top Five Favorite Sneakers

November 2, 2018

For a long time, I felt like sneakers should only be worn to the gym with athletic gear. I was never really into Converse or Vans so an everyday sneaker didn’t fit into my style. But as I’ve gotten older and sneaker styles have become more transitional to everyday wear, they are some of my favorite pieces of footwear. Many styles can really be worn with everything from summer dresses to just plain old jeans and a t-shirt which I love. So I wanted to share with you my top five favorite sneakers that I’ve come to love over the years.

When it comes to my workout routine, I like to mix it up but will most of the time do cardio. Whether on the treadmill or elliptical, or running outside, I need a shoe that’s lightweight and has good cushion. For this, I love my Nike Air sneakers which I’ve had for years. The style has changed and gotten even better from when I first bought years ago, but continue to get great reviews from buyers. Definitely a must have!

When I say transitional, I mean they can go from the gym to street style pretty seamlessly without looking too much like a running shoe. Again, I gotta give Nike credit because I love this pair for both comfort and style. I go down a half size to a 9.5 since that’s what I find fits best in this style.

Warm Weather

Not all sneakers are made the same or have the same fabric thickness, so I wouldn’t wear certain pairs in the winter months for that reason. However, I love my classic Superga sneakers for the warmer months. They are also canvas, so they go with the fabrics of the season. They are lightweight and really go with anything. Only drawback is that they don’t offer a ton of cushion, but I still love them as a stylish, summer sneaker!

Now I’m pretty sure everyone (who’s around my age) had these sneakers as a kid because they were all the rage in the 90s. And they’ve made a comeback in recent years! Gotta love those rotating trends. They are great everyday or casual sneakers and even look better with age in my opinion. Nothing like a good ole’ pair of worn in Adidas Superstars to kick off a weekend.

Last but certainly not least are my all time favorite sneakers that I only recently added to my collection. They are the perfect everyday sneaker that can be worn with almost everything (except maybe to a wedding??). The style, comfort level and fit are so great and in my mind, make them the perfect sneaker. Per recommendation, I went down half a size and they fit perfectly. Now I want to customize an all white leather pair to add to my collection!

So there you have it! What are your favorite pairs? Let me know in the comments as I’m always on the hunt for new styles!
