Everyday Makeup Essentials

September 14, 2018

Long gone are the days where I’d put on a full face of makeup just to head into the office. As I get older, it’s just become less important to me to have perfectly contoured cheeks and a defined cat eye on the daily. I save that look mostly for special events or big nights out and just keep it simple on the day to day. Since my routine is much more paired down now, I wanted to share with you my favorite everyday makeup essentials. These are the ones I’m reaching for on a daily basis and I really could not live without!

After I’m moisturized (skincare post to come!), I will apply my holy grail tinted moisturizer to even out my skin tone and add even more moisture. I don’t care for the super matte look, and love how this product allows for a nice dewy glow without being greasy or heavy. You can see from the pictures that I’m not lying because I need a new tube! I then apply the best BB eye cream you’ll ever use for a bit of dark circle coverage. I’m telling you, this product is amazing and doesn’t feel cakey or heavy. Both the tinted moisturizer and eye cream are SPF 15, which is awesome and an added bonus. Lastly, depending on where I’m going, I’ll dab on a bit of cream highlighter for some shine on my cheekbones. I got a sample of this product a while ago and am still using it – a little goes a long way!

Ever since the 8th grade, I’ve been a lash curling girl and mascara has been my absolute #1 product. Needless to say, I’ve tried a million different brands and formulas. The one I’ve landed on and swear by is a drugstore mascara that literally can’t be beat. The brush and formula are my favorite and it’s the one I just keep going back to! I use this after I curl my lashes quickly with my fav eyelash curler.

Before I put on any lip color, I always apply this incredible lip balm to prep and add moisture. Now, before you go bonkers and say “what the heck, $60 for a lip balm?!”….here me out. This stuff is AMAZING. It might actually be my most favorite beauty find ever. Aside from rose oil, I have no idea what they put in it that makes it so incredible, but trust me when I say that this is seriously an incredible, cult worthy product. And it lasts you a while since a little goes a long way. After my lips are moisturized, I’ll usually apply either this drugstore lip tint in Sweetheart (what I’m wearing in my 20 weeks pregnant update!) or my all time favorite lipstick in #91 that I wore on my wedding day (post to come soon!).

And that’s it! It usually takes me about 10 minutes from start to finish and I just love the simple and fresh look. Do you use any of these products, too? What are your everyday makeup essentials? I’d love to know in the comments!

Amazing recommendations!! I am going with the day tint and eye cream for sure 🙂

Thanks so much for this post and these product recs! I have been using the Dr. Jart and BB Cream the past few days and definitely see a difference! I love the way my skin looks and feels – it has that light glow with that “not wearing makeup” feel but still evens out my skin tone well. Thanks Kate!!

Thank you Kate for your suggestion on the Smashbox eye cream! I’ve been looking for a concealer to cover these dark circles of mine. I’ll let you know how it works out. And thanks for the suggestion on the tinted moisturizer too!

So glad this post has helped! These are seriously my all time fav products, especially the Smashbox concealer. Excited to hear what you think!
